Happy Month of Love ~ By Bou

Hello everyone! **waving my paw to all of you** I hope you are well and that you are behaving.

It's been a fairly boring winter for me. The rabbits are hibernating, the birds have flown to warmer weather, and the squirrels are hiding. We've had so much snow that no one would find me for weeks if I were an outdoor kitteh! I'm so glad to be a house feline. It is definitely BRRRRRY outside!

There is so much snow that it is as high as my boy's car! My boy and a neighbor shoveled out parking spaces so the cars could come and go. They are such good boys!

With all of my animal friends hiding, there isn't much for me to do during the day. So, I sleep under mom's bed, or come out for treats or to be brushed. I have lots of toys, and I like to line them up from the living room down the hall, especially at night. It's like they are my watchful eye brigade, helping me make sure my people are safe.

My favorite thing to do for playtime is play fetch with paper wads. I also have a yarn ball with a string on it that is my favorite of all. My boy plays with me after Mom goes to bed. Sometimes Mom plays with me in the afternoons after I wake up. They are so good.  I love to play tag with my boy, too. When he's not looking I will run up behind him and boop him on the leg. **paw to mouth snicker**

Well, not much more to report from the frozen tundra in Iowa. Please send good thoughts for my kitteh friend, Cole, who is going through chemo and radiation for kitteh cancer. Remember Valentine's Day on February 14th. Give your kitteh lots of extra scritchies that day. I love to hear from my readers. Please continue being the pawsome people you are.

Kitteh Kisses,

Bou

Celebrations ~ by Grace Augustine

So many things to celebrate! In our modern society, every day is jam-packed with celebrations. Today is no exception.

Today is a special day in our home. It is the 6th anniversary of the day we found our sweet Babou, or I should say, she found us. What makes it doubly special is that it's also International Cat Day! =^.^=

Not only is it a day to celebrate our adorable cats, but here are a few other things to celebrate.  Let's hear it for--
  • Bullet Journal Day
  • Celebrate Your Lakes Day
  • Dalek Day
  • Happiness Happens Day
  • International Hangover Day
  • Middle Child Day
  • National Bowling Day
  • National CBD Day
  • National Dollar Day
  • National Frozen Custard Day
  • National Garage Sale Day
  • National Model Aviation Day
  • Odie Day
  • Scottish Wildcat Day
  • Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor's Porch Night
  • The Date to Create
  • Universal and International Infinity Day
  • Wear Your Mother's Jewelry Day

Anyway you slice it, there is something for everyone to celebrate.  Now, if any of you have spare zucchini, I would welcome one or two on my patio...and you don't have to sneak it there. You can knock and I will wave a hearty thank you!

Mmmmm! I see mushroom garlic Alfredo zoodles in my not so distant future!

Rabbits...How's a Girl to Get Any Rest ~ by Bou

I thought I'd drop by and visit a bit with you. It's been a while. I hope you all are behaving, practicing good hygiene--washing your paws frequently, eating a balanced diet, self distancing, and getting lots of sleep.

It's summer! Finally, my humans have opened the sliding glass door and I can breathe in the fresh outside air. The noise from the air conditioner gets old fast when it is running all the time.

Mommy rabbit
Baby bunny
As you can see by the photos throughout my post, I've been very
busy! There seems to be an influx of furry little bunnies and their moms that think my patio is a raceway. And, Mom, gotta love her, decided they needed some treats, so she put out apple cores and steel cut oats. I think the rabbits sounded the alarm because now the chipmunks and squirrels are in on the feast.

I watched a squirrel at the water bowl (yeah, the demented woman did that, too) drink for 10 minutes. I timed her. Poor thing, she limped away like her leg hurt. I hope she's okay.

I celebrated a birthday since last we visited. I am now 6 years old. Can you believe it? That makes me 41 in human years. We didn't celebrate, other than lots of love and an extra portion of the "nip", if you know what I mean. **paw to mouth snickers.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my outdoor friends. Have a good summer and stay safe and healthy.  You never know when I might pop by!  Oh, yeah, and make sure you keep up on the antics of my best friend Mazie here on the blog. **Kitteh purrs and love until next time!

The Year in Review ~ by Bou Kitteh

Well, while Mom is busy, I thought I’d give you an update on 2019 from my perspective. You know I see things differently because I’m only inches from the floor—even though I can jump on certain high surfaces, on others when no one is looking. **paw to mouth snickers.

January, February, and March were dreadful! All that white stuff out there, no one to watch, and the birds weren’t cooperating, either! You’d think with a tree strung with yummy popcorn and berries outside, they’d be grateful. I guess the weather kept them under wraps, too.

April came and it was a breath of fresh air! There were chipmunks! Holy moly…those little things can move so fast! Darting back and forth on the patio. I felt like I was watching one of those tennis things mom watches. My neck hurt by the end of that day! A few squirrels came by, one even up to the door, brazen little brat. Not sure what that one thought, but there was no way I’d be letting it inside. Not on my watch!

My boy surprised my mom one Sunday. He put together the most

amazing urban garden. He painted the bricks and placed them just so and helped plant them. It was cool. They didn’t know I watched, but I did. My boy is a good boy. **eye blinks.

The summer was icky, only because that noisy wall thing was running all the time! There was no fresh air, only the cool stuff coming out of the wall. Scared me when it turned on and off. I was thankful I could hide under the couch or under the beds! Some of the summer storms had me running, too.

September and October were unremarkable, for me at least. I sat
and did some editing, listened to some good music, and took a lot of naps on mom’s lap, of course! **kitteh grins.

Here we are in December. Mom’s been busy editing and writing. My boy leaves every morning and comes home late. I don’t like that much. I like it better when he is here. He gives the best head and whisker rubs. **kitteh sigh.

Now, I’m sure that the pine cones are in the vase and the fancy
wreath is on the door, it won’t be long until that prickly green thing with all those lights and ornaments goes up…and I will be told countless times
to leave it alone. Yeah, well, it bores me. Give me the patio door and the critters outside. That’s more my style. Although, that cute little mouse on the tree fascinates me.

It’s been a good year for this kitteh. I’m with two people who love me. I have lots of toys, although a girl could use more **Christmas present hint**, I’m warm, not hungry or thirsty, and I wish all kittehs could have this luxury.

Please, if you’re thinking your home needs a new kitteh, go to your local animal shelter and adopt. You won’t be sorry. Whomever you choose to love will love you back a hundredfold, I guarantee.

Happy holidays, everyone. Eat and drink responsibly and keep Uber on speed dial. (No Uber's needed here, but maybe a wee bit of the nip every now and again. **paw to mouth snicker)

Kitteh hugs and kisses to all.
